Senior Year

As you look ahead to your senior year, here is what you can expect. Your senior year will largely focus on you preparing to apply to college.

SENIOR COLLEGE CALENDAR

October
• Finalize personal essay.
• Request transcript from main office.
• Visit campus of each college/university; meet admission counselors.
• Still undecided? Attend a college fair.
• Check on letters of recommendation. (Teachers need minimum of three weeks.)
• Start your Scholarship Search. Find five scholarships to which to apply.
• Send off your first college application.

November
• Finish all other college applications. MAIL THEM!
• Call / email admission office two weeks after you send application to check on status.

December
FINANCIAL AID MONTH - Do you know what F-A-F-S-A stands for? You will....

January - March
Scholarship Completion
Submit your first scholarship application to your advisor.
o Include your personal essay or your answer to a specific question.
o Include an official, sealed Ellison transcript.

March - June
• Get ready for the big jump - GRADUATION DAY!

 Is my personal essay perfect?
 Do I have an official, sealed transcript from Ellison?
 Do I have my letters of recommendation?
 Did I pay the application fee?
 Did I forward ACT scores to my colleges?
